Heparin versus No Heparin before Endoscopic Vein Harvesting using Angioscopy

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background: Endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) became a standard technique with several advantages over open (OVH). Thrombus formation inside the lumen is one of main concerns after EVH. It not known whether heparin use before EVH could prevent this complication. The study aimed to assess safety giving intravenous starting system procedure using PeriVu™ Disposable Angioscopy (LeMaitre® VASCULAR- France) as modality intraluminal clots.
Methods: This research randomized that compared two groups patients undergoing CABG. One group had 2500 IU (Virtusaph plus, Terumo) (n=50) and other without (n=50). Intraluminal clots in segments were evaluated PeriVu ( LeMaitre-VASCULAR).
Results: Preoperative data comparable between no statistically significant difference. mean duration versus non-heparin was 30.6±5.8 28.7±5.9, respectively (P= 0.11). detected out 103 (1.94%) No group, while none 0.24).
Conclusion: There difference during endoscopic harvest regarding thrombus formation. Further studies are recommended confirm our findings.

Endoscopic saphenous vein harvesting versus 'open' technique. A prospective study.

OBJECTIVE Preparation of the great saphenous vein for coronary artery bypass grafts is usually performed through one or many cutaneous incisions. A technique of endoscopic harvesting is now available. An aim of the study was to compare both methods, prospectively. METHODS Sixty coronary artery bypass grafting patients were randomly assigned to two groups according to saphenous vein harvesting...

Heparin induced thrombocytopenia

Abstract Background and Objectives Heparin is still a commonly used anticoagulant in prophylaxis and treatment of thromboembolic events. Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) is a life-threating adverse drug reaction of heparin. The diagnosis of HIT is made based on two important criteria, firstly clinical evaluation and secondly laboratory testing. In this comprehensive review, the authors w...

Open versus endoscopic saphenous vein harvesting: wound complications and vein quality.

BACKGROUND The saphenous vein is an important conduit for coronary artery bypass grafting. Wound complications from traditional open vein harvesting occur often. Minimally invasive endoscopic saphenous vein harvesting may decrease wound complications. Vein quality may be an issue with endoscopic harvesting. METHODS We reviewed 568 patients who had bypass grafting and saphenous vein harvesting...

Endoscopic vein harvesting: just a promised land?

Lopes et al1 recently published in The New England Journal of Medicine the results of a comparative study between open and endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) in coronary artery bypass surgery. This study did not pass unnoticed. An impressive record of 1000 patients per arm, 1800 angiographies at 12 to 18 months, and a clinical 3-year follow-up were analyzed. Surprisingly, the results of the 4000 ...
